Essex County Code Blue has been enacted from December 26 at 3 p.m. to Wednesday, December 31 at 8 a.m. for the nighttime hours between 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. only. Because of the winter forecast, Code Blue will begin at 3 p.m. on December 26. Code Blue protocols are enacted when the temperature is forecasted to drop below 32 degrees or due to inclement weather.
