ESSEX COUNTY EXECUTIVE DIVINCENZO RECOGNIZES EMPLOYEES WITH TEAMWORK AWARDS FOR NOVEMBER
Newark, NJ - Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. presented seven County employees with Essex County Teamwork Awards for November during an informal ceremony Wednesday, November 5th in his office.
"I am proud of our Essex County employees who are receiving the Teamwork Awards this month," DiVincenzo said. "Not only are they dedicated and hard-working in their jobs, but they have made positive contributions to their community and treated the public with respect," he added.
the Teamwork Awards for November are as follows:
Lloyd Baldwin of Verona has been a Corrections Officer at the Essex County Jail Annex since 1996. He supervises the daily activities of the inmates and always interacts with visitors in a courteous and professional manner. He was chosen for the award because of his exemplary work ethic.
Joan Lynch of Cedar Grove has worked at the Essex County Hospital Center for 20 years and currently serves as the Medical Unit's Discharge Records Coordinator. She is thoughtful and dependable, and is the first person her colleagues seek for assistance.
Evelyn Princeton of Irvington is a Program Monitor in the Division of Employment and Training, Department of Economic Development, Training & Employment and has been a County employee for seven years. She ensures contracts are fulfilled by vendors receiving funding from the County. As a Captain in the recent American Heart Association Walk, Evelyn inspired colleagues to host bake sales, pizza parties and flea markets in addition to walking in the event.
Aliceteen Ragland of Newark is a Principal Personnel Clerk in the Division of Welfare, Department of Citizen Services, where she maintains records for 750 employees. She was hired by the County in 1981 as a Workfare On the Job Training employee and has risen through the ranks. A breast cancer survivor, she voluntarily counsels employees and tells her story to inspire others.
Ana Santos of Colonia has been a member of the Essex County family for 13 years, spending the first 12 in the Office of the Board of Freeholders and the last one as Appointments Secretary for the County Executive. She exhibits great ability to multi-task while setting the schedule and assisting her boss, answering telephones, interacting with Department/Division Directors, communicating with the public and supporting her office colleagues.
Vince Sharp of Roseland has been Animal Keeper, Zoo Instructional Program at Turtle Back Zoo for 24 of the 26 years he has worked in the Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs. He presents educational programs at the Zoo, in schools and special events, and is a good friend and teacher to the children he meets.
Wayne Winters of Caldwell has been a Sign Maker in the Division of Roads and Bridges, Department of Public Works for the last five years. Skilled at his profession, he designs specialty signs for Turtle Back Zoo, Essex County Summer Concert Series and the Hall of Records Lobby and approaches his work as a personal challenge.
Department Directors from each of the County's seven departments nominate
employees for this award. The chosen employees exemplify the County Executive's
goal for a unified, cooperative workforce that provides good customer service.
Employees who were honored were invited to attend an informal reception in
the County Executive's Office where they received a citation from the County
Executive. Pictures of the winners are on display on the fourth floor of the
Hall of Records outside of the County Executive's Office and will remain there
during the month of November.
